Learn how to plant, grow and harvest garden roses on a private rose farm in the bucolic Sacramento Valley of California.
Do you dream of growing out of this world garden roses?
If your answer was yes, this hands-on educational on-farm experience is what you’ve been waiting for. Stroll through our field filled with thousands of garden roses as you immerse yourself in the fragrance and magic of the farm. Over the course of our half day experience, we will cover everything from year round garden rose care, harvesting techniques, variety selections and insect and disease management.
Just imagine how you could grow beautiful garden roses if you had the answers to these questions:
This is the only workshop Felicia teaches each year focused on the cultivating and production of roses. With a limited number of tickets up for grabs, we're keeping the group cozy, giving Felicia the chance to craft unforgettable connections with all attendees.
Our workshop location is Live Oak (95953) in the beautiful Sacramento Valley of California at Menagerie Farm & Flower, a private garden rose and fruit farm. With limited seats available, we know you will develop intimate friendships with your fellow attendees and have exclusive one on one access to Felicia Alvarez, founder & farmer of Menagerie Farm & Flower. This workshop was created to not only give you the hands-on education that only an on-farm educational experience can, but it is designed for you to connect with fellow attendees in an intimate learning environment where friends become like family.
All experience levels are welcome so if you’ve never grown a rose we will make you feel right at home. In addition to our learning sessions we’ll enjoy fresh farm to table lunch and refreshments. Please send us a message if you have any questions about this one of a kind experience. So what are you waiting for? Get your ticket today. We’d love to have you join us!
Felicia Alvarez founded Menagerie Farm & Flower specializing in garden roses, specialty flowers, French prunes, assorted stone fruits, nuts and rice on over 100 acres of beautiful California farmland. She is a third generation farmer and entrepreneur who has been farming for over two decades.
Felicia’s sustainable farming practices are an all-inclusive approach to creating a healthy small scale farm. Felicia shares her passion for nature, art, science and farming with educational outreach - teaching her love of the land to both beginning & experienced gardeners and farmers from across the country. Helping others learn simple ways to bring food & flowers together in their home is her greatest joy.
She studied Crop Science & Agricultural Business at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, has been featured in the Sunset Magazine, Slow Flowers Journal, Style Me Pretty, Team Flower, the First Lady’s Luncheon to name a few and serves on the Board of Directors for Certified American Grown Flowers. Her first book, Growing Wonder: A Flower Farmer’s Guide to Roses was released in March 2022. She enjoys spending time on the farm with her husband and two young sons.
The workshop will run from 9am-3pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
